Academy Director & Head Coach

Immediate Job Opening

FC Storm has an immediate opening for a full-time Academy Director and Head Coach.

The Director of the FC Storm Academy Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the soccer division within FC Storm for pre-select players ages U7 and U8.  The Academy Director reports to the Sr Director of Coaching for the technical aspects of the Academy Division and administratively to the President, LYSA/FC Storm.

Qualified Candidates must have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Sports Management or related field from an accredited college.
  • US National D Soccer Coaching License (USSF D) or European B license (UEFA B) or equivalent or on a pathway to obtain the required coaching license.
  • Demonstrated ability for effective written and oral communication in English
  • Willingness to relocate and reside in the greater Loveland, OH area

The FC Storm Academy Director must have a deep understanding of soccer training and coaching methods applicable to the U7 and U8 youth player. The candidate must have prior experience working with youth soccer players.   In addition, the Director needs to have in-depth knowledgeable and understanding of the FC Storm Training Framework and Skill Modules as they related to training U7 and U8 players in the FC Storm Academy

The Academy Director role requires the following organizational and management skills:

  • Coordinating player registration for spring and fall seasons
  • Handling administrative tasks and team management such as team scheduling and tournament registration
  • Organizing practice and game schedules
  • Organizing end-of-season tournaments
  • Frequent, transparent and effective communication with parents
  • Proactive communication with club leadership
  • Strategic planning to grow participation in the program, especially in the Milford community and other surrounding areas.
  • Marketing, advertising and outreach for each Academy season.
  • Participation in weekly FC Storm leadership team meetings representing the Academy program.

An FC Storm Head Coach is expected to have a deep understanding of soccer training and coaching methods and be able to assess player development needs.  In addition, an FC Storm Head Coach needs to be fully knowledgeable and supportive of the FC Storm training frameworks and skill modules.  Excellent on field training skills are required.  FC Storm Head Coaches are expected to have a minimum of a US Soccer D Coaching License and prior playing experience (at the collegiate level is preferred) and coaching experience of youth soccer, high school or collegiate teams.

Compensation:

  • $25,000 – $35,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

The 2024/2025 seasonal calendar includes:

  • Academy registration occurs in early summer
  • Team practices begin first week in August. Teams practice twice a week until the season ends at the end of October
  • Support for the Club Preseason Camp
  • September to October – managing the Academy teams, coaches and trainers
  • November to mid-December – working with older teams as a trainer
  • January and February – lead optional winter training
  • March to mid-May – spring season practices twice and Academy games and tournaments
  • End of May – support FC Storm tryouts

The Academy Director is expected to attend regular club leadership meetings to participate in future planning, program development, coaching decisions and other strategic elements that drive the future of FC Storm

    Additional responsibilities will include

    • Preseason camp
    • Winter futsal – 6 weeks in Nov & Dec
    • Winter training – Jan & Feb
    • Ball mastery training
