FC Storm Academy is a development program for boys and girls specifically designed for the U8 and U7 player. It will improve foundational soccer skills (first touch, dribbling, passing) through focused training and small sided games. Academy is conducted in a fun, positive learning environment that prepares players for select soccer.
Academy teams are formed in the fall and spring. They are separate seasons and players have to register for each season separately. Unlike Select Soccer, players only commit to one season at a time.
Tryouts are not required to participate in the FC Storm Academy. The program and training are designed for players (families) who are serious about working on skill development and are mentally and physically ready for more advanced training than traditional recreational soccer programs can provide. While teams play weekly games the real focus is development of soccer skills that are the foundation for future growth. Academy uses the proven training curriculum and approach developed by FC Storm.
Players are grouped by gender. The U7 players participate in friendly games with other select clubs. The U8 players participate in a more formal league. Scores and standings are not not tracked for either age group. Teams play matches against select clubs such as Cincinnati United, Lakota FC, Cincinnati Soccer Club, Impact, Cincinnati Elite, STAR and FOSC.
FC Storm Academy coaches are USSF licensed and are selected because of their abilityt to teach soccer young players. Academy coaches bring enthusiasm and passion that creates a rich environment for players to learn and grow. Most players attend multiple seasons because they enjoy the experience.
The seasonal fee is $250. It includes the cost of coaches & trainers, games, referees and field expenses. Players are required to purchase a uniform that is used for training and games. It is approximately $70. If players play for multiple seasons, the uniform only needs to be purchased once.

Sprocket Sports App
Sprocket Sports will replace Team Snap for schedules and practice and game schedules. The app is nearly identical to Team Snap (but without the annoying ads). All of FC Storm and LYSA Rec soccer will be using the Sprocket app. If you have multiple players on different teams you will be able to see all of their events on a common calendar on the app.
Sprocket’s primary advantage is behind the scenes; it reduces the amount of work to manage player placement on Team Snap. We don’t promise this will not have a glitch or two and quickly resolve any issues you have.
For help with Sprocket contact the Club Admin at [email protected].
