HEAD COACH & TRAINER

Immediate Job Opening

FC Storm has an immediate opening for a full-time Head Coach and Training Coordinator.

The Head Coach and Training Coordinator is responsible for filling the role of Head Coach for two to three FC Storm teams and for overseeing training for teams during the fall, winter, & spring training seasons. The Head Coach and Training Coordinator is accountable to the Senior Director of Coaching for technical training and administratively to the Vice President for Coaching, Training and Personnel.  The Sr. Director of Coaching and Vice President report to the President of Loveland Youth Soccer Association and FC Storm.

Qualified Candidates must have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Sports Management or related field from an accredited college.
  • US National D Soccer Coaching License (USSF D) or European B license (UEFA B) or equivalent or on a pathway to obtain the required coaching license.
  • Demonstrated ability for effective written and oral communication in English
  • Willingness to relocate and reside in the greater Loveland, OH area

An FC Storm Head Coach is expected to have a deep understanding of soccer training and coaching methods and be able to assess player development needs.  In addition, an FC Storm Head Coach needs to be fully knowledgeable and supportive of the FC Storm training frameworks and skill modules.  Excellent on-field training skills are required.  FC Storm Head Coaches are expected to have a minimum of a US Soccer D Coaching License and prior playing experience (at the collegiate level is preferred) and coaching experience of youth soccer, high school or collegiate teams.

The FC Storm Training Coordinator must have a deep understanding of soccer training and coaching methods and be able to assess player development needs for youth soccer players ages U9 – U19. The candidate must have prior experience working with youth soccer players.   In addition, the training coordinator needs in-depth knowledge and understanding of the FC Storm Training Frameworks and Skill Modules.

Excellent on-field training skills are required. The training coordinator needs to be capable of working with the professional age group coaches and able to effectively communicate with them. Written and oral proactive communication with the club leadership is expected.

Compensation:

  • $25,000 – $35,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

The 2024/2025 seasonal calendar includes:

  • FC Storm Tryouts May 13th – 24th.
  • Summer – optional pickup games lead by coaches with the option of offering age group training and/or private lessons to players.
  • Team practices begin August 5th.
  • Supporting the Senior DOC and Age group DOCs to implement the Club Preseason Camp August 12th – 16th.
  • Coaching/Training FC Storm select and/or FCS Premier teams U9-U19 August – November.
  • November – December: Plan, manage and expand the winter Club-wide futsal training/league program for FCS Premier and FC Storm players.
  • Training High School teams’ practice in November and coach teams in a Fall Showcase.
  • January – February – Lead training for assigned teams during the 8-week winter training for FC Storm and FCS Premier players that aligns with the FC Storm training curriculum.
  • During the fall and spring seasons, the Training Coordinator would be expected to be on the field Monday through Friday nights from 5 pm to dusk, training and coaching FC Storm teams.
  • Coordinate Friday technical training for FC Storm players that need additional training on the U9 Ball Mastery Curriculum.

The Training Coordinator will attend regular club leadership meetings to participate in future planning, program development, coaching decisions and other strategic elements that drive the future of FC Storm

On-field responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Assist age group Director of Coaching
  2. Lead oon-field training for teams assigned by the Vice President for Coaching & Personnel
  3. Coach 2 to 3 teams each season

Coaching responsibilities include

  1. Team leadership
  2. Game and tournament scheduling
  3. Leading training 2 to 3 times each week in the fall and spring season
  4. Regular communication with parents
  5. On-going player assessments
  6. End of year player evaluations
  7. Proficiency in use of video analysis

Additional responsibilities will include

  • Preseason camp
  • Winter futsal – 6 weeks in Nov & Dec
  • Winter training – Jan & Feb
  • Ball mastery training
