PRESEASON CAMP
Monday, August 12 to Thursday, August 15
The FC Storm Preseason Camp is our kick off to the fall season. Across all ages and skill levels, the teams will focus on individual and team skills based on the Storm Training Curriculum.
PRESEASON FRIENDLIES
Saturday, August 17 & Sunday, August 18
Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18 all Storm and Premier teams will participate in two preseason games. The matches on August 17 will be against Cincinnati United teams. The games on August 18 will be all in-house with our teams matched against other Storm/Premier teams.
CAMP DETAILS
Player Objectives
Teams that Play 7v7
- Learn, understand and demonstrate the fundamentals on beating defenders 1v1
- Incorporate a variety of moves into beating defenders
- Make good decisions on what, where and when a move should be attempted.
Teams that Play 9v9
- Develop key technical skills to enable players to play an organized possession based game
- Technical skills important for possession soccer; 1st touch/receiving, passing (weight, accuracy and technique) and understanding and utilizing time and space
Teams that Play 11v11
- Develop tactical awareness for improved decision making on and off the ball
- Understand player roles in specific areas of the field attacking and defending
- Read and understand the game’s cues and triggers to be proactive and not reactive
